MEADOWS FESTIVAL (MEDFEST)

MEDFEST 2010 will be a week long event, starting on Saturday 24th July and ending on Saturday 31st July

THE VILLAGE SHOW
at Arkwright Meadows Community Gardens
1pm to 4pm

Sunday 25th July

MULTI FAITH SERVICE

Monday 26th July

KIDS DAY
Queens Walk Park
10am to 4pm
Transformer Bus, Large Inflatable Slide, Surf Simulator and lots more!!

Tuesday 27th July

HEALTH DAY
Portland Leisure Centre
11am to 4pm
Alternative Therapies such as Reiki, Reflexology,Acupuncture and Crystals,
Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Information Stands,
Local Health Groups including Mental Health, Sickle Cell Awareness, Remploy, Diabetic Association and British Heart Foundation and Flexible Fitness with the Portland Leisure Fitness Advisors

7pm to 9pm
QUIZ NIGHT
at Queens Walk Community Centre

Wednesday 28th July

10am to 1pm
SHELTERED HOUSING EVENT
Kirkwhite Court,Eugene Gardens,The Meadows,Nottingham,
Come along and find out about what Sheltered Housing can offer and what is available in the Meadows.
Isabel Edis will be putting on refreshments, (well worth a visit just for her food).

1.30pm to 3.30pm
TEA DANCE
Organised by the Meadows Dance Group
Venue to be advised
GET OUT THOSE DANCING SHOES AND COME AND JOIN IN THE FUN!

Thursday 29th July

SPORTS DAY
Times to be confirmed
Loads of activities including Football, Cricket etc

2pm
As part of the Sports Day, there will be a
BOWLS COMPETITION
between the Meadows Police and the Bowls Group, (Last Year the Police Won!!!) So come along and support your team,
Refreshments will be available at the Pavilion

Friday 30th July

PRIDE IN THE MEADOWS DAY
Starting at 1pm
There will be a History display and possibly a talk at the Meadows Library.
A Pride in the Meadows Walk will take place during the afternoon, which will take in some of the historical sites around the Meadows and also the Bloom Competition.

The Finale of the Day will be a parade along the Embankment, possibly in fancy dress,finishing at the Bandstand, where hopefully we will have refreshments and a tribute to Jesse Boot

Saturday 31st July

MEDFEST - THE GRAND FINALE
MUSIC FESTIVAL &
PICNIC IN THE PARK

Drumming Workshop
All different types of Music
Refreshments Available to Purchase
or bring your own PICNIC

8pm BARN DANCE
Venue and Ticket Prices to be confirmed
